Greeting Card Factory Project

Follow the steps below to find out how to create images and add text effects to your greetings card projects.

You'll also learn how to create a vector based image, the advantage that a vector based image provides is that you can make them as big or as small as you like without loosing detail or quality, making them ideal for any greetings card size or shape.

To create the face

From the Draw menu greeting card factory menu image on the left hand side select Draw an Oval Shape select

Create the oval shape with a simple drag to your required size.

Making the ears with Greeting Card Factory

Select your oval with the mouse pointer, then using your keyboard hold down the Ctrl key, then press the 'C' key, this will copy the image to memory.

While still holding down the Ctrl key press the 'V' key, this will then paste the copied image onto your canvas.

Next re-size your new image to about 'Ear size!'

Use the copy and paste method as above to make another ear and position them on the head.
Use the same technique to create the cheeks and eyes.

To make the mouth

From the Draw menu greeting card factory icon on the left hand side select Add a Custom Shape.

From the custom shape list select Donut, you can then use the slider bars to form the mouth, click OK

Re-size the mouth and move to position.

The eyebrows were made using sheared triangles, to shear a shape simply select the shape click on the shear tag and drag it in the direction of your choice.

To make the hair

From the Draw Menu Draw Tool icon on the left hand side select Add a Custom Shape.

Scroll down the list and select Wave you can then use the slider bars to form the hair, click OK, rotate and position.

Making the greeting card frame and adding text

From the Graphic Tools Greetings card frame maker select Add a Border, select the style from the list, then re-size the border to fit your design.

Adding text is simple, click on the Text tool card text tool either select Add your own text or Add a New sentiment (Greetings card factory has over 3500)

I've used an earlier 'Greetings Card Factory' programme for several years and found it was more than adequate in solving all my card requirements, whether it be greetings cards, business cards, postcards etc.

With Christmas coming up, decided to treat myself to an update, and am I really pleased that I did! Loads of new stuff and features, with the 'Seasons' clip art as a great bonus. And as always, Amazon's good pricing and free delivery.

If you'd like to have a go at making your own personal cards (recipients love 'em!), then this is the programme to go for. Brilliant!!
